Discover Provence’s True ‘Art de Vivre’

May 24, 2011

One of my greatest joys in life is the art of cooking and the pleasure of eating! Perhaps this is because many of my childhood memories are immersed in the beautiful aromas from my mother’s kitchen, or because food has a special way of uniting people like nothing else can.

So what could be more enjoyable than visiting Provence and savoring its aromatic and elegantly simple cuisine?

Imagine yourself driving past fields of vivid lavender, centuries old olive trees, thyme, rosemary and sage while surrounded by the enchanting beauty of the Provencal landscape with its golden hues and crystal blue skies. If you ever visit Provence, you will instantly recognize why for years it has been the birthplace of inspiration for writers, poets and artists alike.

Provence offers lovers the tranquility to rest peacefully as they unwind and discover the region’s true ‘art de vivre’ while enjoying luxurious accommodations at one of the many boutique hotels.
Take strolls through fields that offer a profusion of scents and colors. Enjoy a picnic basket under the shade of a beautiful tree. Bicycle ride up rolling hills. See the magical beauty of Provence from a hot-air balloon. Relax at the spa. Visit local towns, markets, heritage sites, or just sit by a pool to enjoy the simple pleasures of life.

The superb flavors of Provençal cuisine can be savored at Michelin star restaurants, local bistros or markets. What makes this cuisine so delicious is the use of seasonal local ingredients. Restaurant menus continually change to offer the freshest ingredients and honor local products.

Participate in a cooking class, truffle hunting, wine tasting or visit local markets filled with barrels of plump olives, mounds of rich and colorful spices, wedges of cheese and fresh breads.

Whether you want to stroll, rest, eat, drink, discover, or enjoy the simple pleasure of just being… Provence awaits you!
